VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Looking for a great way to be part of your community and offer your services as well? Become a volunteer! The City of Paso Robles is always in need of volunteers to do everything from clerical tasks and library help to Community Patrol with the Police Department and membership on our various committees. Without volunteers, the City wouldn’t be able to offer the quality or quantity of services it is able to. Volunteers are vital to our organization. Be part of it!

Adopt-A-Street
The Adopt-A-Street Program is a fun and worthwhile program that gives individuals, companies, schools or organizations an opportunity to adopt a City street and beautify a part of Paso Robles in partnership with the City. Adoption requires litter pickup on a section of street a minimum of twice a month for six months. This is a great way to promote community pride and goodwill within your organization, and among family and friends. For more information on the Adopt-A-Street program or to sign up, visit the Adopt-A-Street page.

Advisory Committees
The City has many advisory committees that are composed of dedicated community members who volunteer their time. The committees are advisory bodies to the City Council and provide important input regarding decisions to be made on specific issues affecting the community at large as well as specific groups or interests such as Senior Citizens, Teens, the Library and the Airport.

To learn more about the committees, check out the City Council Advisory Bodies page. It includes the purpose of each committee, when they meet and the terms of office.

To find out which committees will have vacancies due to term expiration during the year, download the following document, Advisory Committee Vacancies. This document is updated once a year per the Maddy Act and does not reflect those vacancies created by any other means (resignation, etc.) To apply for a committee, download and fill out the Advisory Committee Application [pdf:81k/1pp] and return it to the Office of the City Clerk. For questions regarding any vacancies, contact Shari Ryan at 237-3960.

Festival of the Arts
The inaugural Festival of the Arts was an unqualified success, with an estimated attendance of 5,000 people; 63 artists in the River Art Show; 39 artists in the Fine Art Show; 24 artists in the Quick-Draw; 7 children’s art classrooms; 9 live performances on the kid’s stage; two concerts; and 191 volunteers. For more information about volunteering for this event visit www.PasoArtFestival.com.

Library

Adult
The City Library utilizes volunteers in many aspects of library service, from "up front and personal" to "behind the scenes," and several areas in between. Find your niche in Circulation; Reference; Computers; Children’s Services; the Friends Gift Store; Materials Processing and Holds; Shelving; Mending; helping in the Senior Center Library Room; or conducting tours and proctoring tests...more »

Friends of the Library
If you like to shop, then you've probably wondered what's involved in selecting, purchasing, and arranging those items you see displayed in your favorite stores.   The Paso Robles Friends of the Library, established in April of 1978, is looking for a few good men and women to help run their gift store, located just off the Library/City Hall lobby.  Shifts are only two hours, once a week, and there are openings throughout the week.  Learn about the retail industry, meet interesting people, and be part of an indispensable Library partnership.  Energetic seniors, who enjoy interaction with the public, are perfect for this job!  Make a difference – be a volunteer! For more information, contact Suzanne, Volunteer and Events Coordinator, at 237-3870 or email her at srobaitalle@prcity.com.
