"Little Adventures" Zoo Phonics Pre-school Program

YMCA "Little Adventures" ParticipantThis program is designed to introduce your child to a fun learning environment. We incorporate the “Zoo-phonics” literacy program that teaches letter recognition, letter sounds, and letter combinations. The Zoo-phonics program will teach children pre-reading, and beginning reading skills by the end of the year. This exciting kid-friendly curriculum places emphasis on letters, shapes, colors, numbers, and pre-academic kindergarten skills. A nutritious morning snack is provided.

Location:   Centennial Park, Acorn Room
Ages:   Potty Trained (2 1/2 to Pre-K)
Time:   8:00 -11:00 am.
Days:   Tuesday - Friday

YMCA KidsThe San Luis Obispo County YMCA is a licensed program that strives to provide the best care for children. We offer a fun, safe environment with a wide variety of enriching activities that includes homework assistance, club sports, art, and special events. We encourage strong character development through our six pillars, which include trustworthiness, caring, respect, citizenship, fairness, and responsibility. We provide nutritious snacks that include two food groups daily. The Paso Robles School District provides transportation to our location at Centennial Park from all elementary schools in the Paso Robles District. Youth Development Director: Jeri Baxter, 237-0845.

  • Registration forms are available for children within the Oak Park Community.
  • Children not residing within the Oak Park Community will also be included as space is available.
  • This is not a drop-in program. In order to participate, you must fill out a registration form.
  • Children will be signed in by staff or a parent and must be signed out by a parent or guardian listed on their registration form.

YMCA-FREE for Middle School Students

YMCA Afterschool Participants
Program Collaboration:
Paso Robles Unified School District, San Luis Obispo County YMCA, Paso Robles Library and Recreation Services.

This program is free for middle school kids and includes: academics, sports, cooking, dance, gymnastics, karate, free running & much more. Nutritious snacks are provided before homework. Daily classes are offered to students in three key areas: academic core classes, support classes, and educational enrichment. All classes are integrated with state learning standards. Students may pick different classes each hour that the program is open giving the students a variety of learning experiences. In addition, the program puts an emphasis on team building and character development. Registration form, with parental signature, is required before participation in the program.
