CALIFORNIA UNIFORM PUBLIC CONSTRUCTION COST ACCOUNTING ACT
(Informal Bidding Process)
In 2002 the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 831 establishing Informal Bidding Procedures as described in Section 22000 of the Public Contract Code. These procedures allow Public Works construction projects which meet specific criteria for cost (currently $100,000 on an ongoing basis, with case-by-case exceptions up to $125,000) to be performed by contract acquired by informal bidding procedures. See Public Contract Code Section 22034 for more information.
Add your firm to the City's List of Qualified Bidders
If you would like to have your construction company included on the City's list, please complete and send in a Contractor's Pre-Qualification Application.
The List of Qualified Bidders is updated annually. Each November the City sends a notice to all construction trade journals (per Section 22036 of the Public Contract Code) inviting licensed contractors to submit their firm for inclusion on the Citys list for the following year. From the submitted applications the City creates a new contractor’s list each January. The list includes all contractors who have provided the City with the required information any time during the calendar year in which the list is valid or during November or December of the previous year.
