STUDY CENTER

The Library Study Center, located at 3201 Spring Street, is the place for kids to be Monday through Wednesday afternoons. Library staff is on hand to help students with homework, research, and reports. A small but powerful reference collection lines the shelves. Computers with Internet access are available to children and teens with parents permission. Magazines, paperbacks, picture books, and other recreational reading materials are available as well.
Raising A Reader
Books Make a Difference in Your Child’s Life! Imagine your young child, grandchild, neighbor or friend falling in love with books! An award winning program that brings books into the homes of families with children 0 – 5 is now available at the Paso Robles Library Study Center! Raising a Reader allows preschoolers to take home bright red canvas bags filled with quality children’s books, professionally selected for their age group. After checking out 10 bags, the child receives his or her own Raising a Reader tote bag to encourage library visits. For more information, visit or call the Library Study Center!
Computers
The Library has a long-standing policy of providing age-appropriate material for children. Thus, Internet stations located in the Study Center are "filtered" workstations. This means they are equipped with software designed to prevent minors from accessing sites that may contain material that is inappropriate for children. Parents and legal guardians should be aware, however, that no filtering system is perfect, and that children who use these stations could come into contact with objectionable material.
Library staff does not monitor children’s use of the Internet. Children are less likely to encounter objectionable material and will get more out of the online experience when they have adult supervision. The Library encourages parents and legal guardians to become involved in their children’s use of the Internet, including the appropriate use of safety and security techniques.
Both adult Internet users and parent/guardians of minors using the Internet must read the Internet Guidelines (English Version or Spanish Version).
